Academic

Along with my English and Art History, I adored History and cultural studies. I had a brief stint with Biology, but I doubt anyone wants to look at my lab reports! I also spent the fall of 2024 abroad in Florence, Italy, studying Renaissance art and Italian language.

Some of my favorite courses at Davidson:

Critical Theory for Visual Studies (wrote on Rosemarie Trockel, Cindy Sherman, and Mickalene Thomas)

Russia and the West (wrote on nostalgia in Russian film)

European Metropolis (researched archival British Suffrage scrapbooks)

Studies in Modern Poetry (worked on Edna St. Vincent Millay’s diaries and work in magazines)

The Unreliable Narrator in News (Journalism studies, wrote on reportage on and narratives of women’s bodily autonomy)

Buying and Collecting Art (made purchase of artworks valuing $40,000 with peers for the Davidson Collection)

Literary Theory and Criticism (wrote on politics and gender through costume design in Severance)

British Literature Since 1940-Present (created a video essay on design in Muriel Spark’s the Driver’s Seat)

Virginia Woolf (wrote on arts in domestic settings in Mrs. Dalloway)

Sacred Sites and Souvenirs (created a video essay analyzing postcards and stamps from Islamic pilgrimage)

Prior to starting Davidson, I completed an online course in historical fashion.

Under this tab I’ve included some of the work from a variety of different classes.
