Hi! My name is Cate Goodin and I’m recent graduate of Davidson College with a B.A. in English and Art History. I’m heading to the University of Cambridge for my MPhil in Global History of Art and Architecture in fall 2026. My English speciality is in twentieth-century literature, particularly modernism and experimental fiction, and my Art History speciality lies in twentieth-century works, particularly Fluxus practice and Neo-Dadaism, textiles and craft, and women photographers. Art archives and art publications are where I’m happy!
From editing and writing for my college newspaper and magazine, working at the Davidson Writing Center, and fact-checking for the Archives of American Art Journal, I have extensive editing experience and publication knowledge.
For my Honors English Thesis, I theorized nostalgia in Leanne Shapton’s fiction book in the form of an auction catalog: Important Artifacts and Personal Property from the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris. For my Art History Capstone (senior research) I explored the archives of newsletters and ephemera from Mail Artist Anna Banana.
I enjoy the opportunity to work with both literary and visual analysis (like in these two culminating papers), and I hope to continue working at the overlap of my majors in projects and work to come.
Some hobbies include pick-up soccer, stamp collecting, scouring eBay for vintage clothing and feedsack fabric, and sewing.
